The purpose of GENIUS is to develop research, training and cooperation in the field of bowel diseases to improve patient care with particular focus on the use of intestinal ultrasound as a diagnostic and assessment tool in inflammatory bowel diseases. We aim to:

Promote, teach and train

healthcare personnel in the field of bowel diseases, with particular respect to the use of intestinal ultrasound in the diagnosis and assessment of inflammatory bowel disease.

Initiate, participate and collaborate

in research nationally and internationally, in Intestinal Ultrasound in Inflammatory and other bowel diseases.

Organise local and international

clinical and scientific exchange programmes for the purposes of educating, training and research in the field of ultrasound in bowel diseases.

Develop and publish

guidelines and educational materials which will improve the assessment and management of bowel diseases locally and internationally, with particular respect to the performance of intestinal ultrasound in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

Cooperate and participate

with other organisations that are interested in bowel diseases, including medical associations and companies
